An important meeting is taking place today at 5pm in the Bear Pit at town hall regarding Zoning Bylaw 66.
Currently, some properties in town are zoned RM-1, Residential Multiple Family. As of now, your home is a permitted use in this zone. A major change proposed for this zone is that single family homes and duplexes will no longer be permitted. Any single family home on land zoned RM-1 will then be deemed "legal, non-conforming" and therefore restricted with regards to upgrades, additions, or changes. Approx 60 homes will be affected.
There are other changes that will take place that will impact your home.
