A rare presentation took place in Fort Nelson on Sept 14, 2012 when member of parliament Bob Zimmer presented Mayor Bill Streeper with the Queens Jubilee medal.
At the 2012 Shale Gas Symposium held at the Phoenix Theatre, the Peace River MP read a brief biography on Mayor Streeper and cited his years of work
in the community and subsequent efforts in municipal government as the
contributing factors in making this presentation.
The Queen's Jubilee medal recognizes Canadians who have made outstanding contributions to their communities and country.
Mayor Streeper is now a member of the select few Canadians who have been
recognized by the Queen's Jubilee
