Regular, Part Time (14 hrs/wk)

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the overall operations of the campus Bookstore and dealing with the general public. This would include, but is not limited to, ordering books and instructional materials, promotional materials and special orders while maintaining a cost-recovery operation, providing inventory control (shipping and receiving) and promoting the Bookstore by consistently maintaining an impressive display area. This position will also undertake the following: liaise with other campuses, instructors and publisher to obtain information for ordering all required educational material.

QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of grade 12 and formal post secondary clerical training. Ability to communicate and serve the public; possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; demonstrate strong computer skills; be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and databases; and manage inventory as well as shipping and receiving. Retail experience would be a definite asset. Must possess the flexibility to work independently while still being an effective team member. Working well under pressure, sometimes with strict time constraints if necessary. Confidentiality and maintenance of orderly and accurate filing system is paramount. Some familiarity with a student registration system such as Colleague would be an asset. A minimum typing speed of 45 wpm is preferred. The selection process will include the successful completion of clerical testing.

LOCATION: Fort Nelson, BC

SALARY: Classification 7, $19.10 -$19.69/hr as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement

START DATE: As soon as possible after closing
