Regular, Part Time (10.5 hrs/wk)
DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will administer financial aid programs by: ensuring the consistent administration of various programs, communicating with the Ministry of Advanced Education regarding policies and procedure interpretation, maintaining both electronic and paper filing systems for all records, producing financial reports for campus administration and the Student Services branch, reconciling for monies disbursed, producing the annual Institutional appendix for the Student Services branch, and will be responsible for coordinating/organizing the student awards event at the campus. He/She will also be expected to deliver financial aid services to students by interviewing and advising them regarding available programs; assisting students to file appeals and re-assessments; preparing journal entries and cheque requisitions and distributing cheques; typing acceptance and sponsor letters; and processing all necessary paperwork. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, Applied Business Technology certification (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. The ability to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team is essential. Financial or other related experience is an asset. Need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and databases; Some familiarity with a student registration system such as Colleague would be an asset. A minimum typing speed of 45 wpm is preferred. The selection process will include the successful completion of clerical testing.
