So i have a small problem with my cats, love them both to bits, but one/both of them have been nibbling on one of my houseplants. I cant put this plant on the wall or any place they wont reach it because its a large heavy plant. Is there anything I could either make or buy somewhere IN TOWN, to spray on the leaves to stop them from chewing? During the day they never go near it, I know this because im home all day and never see them up there. it seems to be at night, i come out and another one has little chew holes in it :S
There has to be something I can use that I have at home to stop them! Anyone, anyone!? lol

They've got a natural desire to do this because of their instinct to eat grass for digestive reasons.
If your cat enjoys chewing on your plants, purchase some cat grass. You can find the seeds from garden centers or you can plant your own from barley and oat seeds. There are also sprays you can purchase that will give them a bad taste in their mouth. It won't hurt them, just turn them right off of chewing plants. Our best bet is search on-line. Go to any search engine Ashley and type in "Cat Spray." There are many options.

Cat spray works like acharm. We sprayed were we did not want the cat near. Every so often he will forget and try to get near. And the look on his face is worth the price of the spray

Cayenne pepper. Dust some on the plant itself and it will deter kitty pretty good. After a week or soo they should just avoid it and carry on with their lives.

When I had a cat I used Cayenne pepper too. It worked for my cat.

I meant that after a week you shouldnt need to use the pepper anymore. Man did I ever misread Gordo's post. I thought "Cat spray?? This guy is putting cat piss on his house plants?". My bad.

And if by some weird reason your cat likes the cayenne pepper....well then you got a cat way,way awesomer than a house plant.

GORDO, does the cat spray have a name or brand, or is it just "cat spray"? ---------- Life is tough ...It's even tougher if you're stupid.........

I think its called "anti chat plantes". Or "Holy Chat!!"
Chat is French for cat but it sure sounds like a certain word for poop. This also marks the first and last time I use the word "poop" here.
