So at the Fred Burke lodge which is Imperial Oil's biggest camp have come up with a genius idea. Ready for this??

No pop whatsoever on site is to be brought in or sold or available in their kitchen.

Well what the hell for? You may ask.

Well cuz it coud be used for mix. We are through the looking glass here people. Next to go is orange juice and water lest the heathens make screwdrivers and rye and waters.

I can see the next "rule" coming down the pipe. "No whistling on site as it may confuse the birds"

Tis fact. No pop at the Jim Burke lodge. A driver for a company in town I am very familiar with brought a six pack of coke into that camp and had it confiscated.

See? what happens is, people act like jack asses and spoil it for everyone else. I'm only speculating here but I'm guessing, people were expected to act like human beings and some ars's took advantage...guess what happens? No pop!

Well that is just nuts. I wouldn't be able to stay there. I drink Pepsi everyday.
Were people sneaking liquor in in pop bottles? So now everyone will drink Vodka and sneak it in in water bottles and water will be banned? That's just friggen back woods thinking. How about you get caught you fire their asses.

Slow death by safety. The emphasis being put on it is good but anything, no matter how well intended, will become a misguided and terrible version of itself when taken to extremes.

No kidding slow death by safety. I am there right now. Every time I think I am getting close to an end some regulations rears its ugly little head. I think some "real" working people need to work for OH&S.

Being safe is awesome and all but when you get this kind of overkill you wonder when will it end. The day they tell me I have to show up to work wrapped in bubble rap in case I:

Fall down
Bump into something
Cut myself
Get my feelings hurt
Stub my toe
Look directly into the sun
Slip on the ice

Is the day I hang it up.

CRAZINESS! If someone wants to have a drink, they'll find a way to do it. If pop, water or juice is banned, what to stop someone from drinking the booze straight out of the bottle? These people need to give their heads a shake! Or have it shaken for them.

Gotta be BS. Why would the rcmp care if a grown man had alcohol at a camp. Sure its against their insane little rules but what actual law does it break?

Is it really about booze or is it a cost cutting measure? Who doesn't know a neighbour with cases of potato chips, flats of Red Bull or other items, that started its life in camp. I hope they stopped supplying clamato as well, because I could live without the soda. . .
