. Firefighters indicated they would not be able to save the building. They contained the fire and let it burn. Thick Black Smoke was the main hazard.   

There are no apparent injuries from the fire…it is two doors down from where the fire of two years ago burned another building to the ground.  Police had the downtown blocked off.  

 The Alaska Hotel was a landmark and tourist attraction in Dawson Creek for it's longevity and unique appearance.
